Robin Richerson is a sculptor working most recently in limited edition
cast bronzes. Robin was a
graduate of University of Missouri Kansas City with a degree in studio
art, where he studied sculpture with Louis Cicotello.
Since that time he has done independent studies and most recently
he has studied with nationally known sculptor, Kwan Wu.
Robin is a member of the Greater Kansas City Artist Association, Kansas
City Artists Coalition and is a member of Images Art Gallery, which is
an artist cooperative. His
work is exhibited at The Rice Gallery in Overland Park, Kansas and the
Bohemian Gallery in the Cross Roads district of Kansas City, Missouri.
Robin won several blue ribbons at local art shows for his bronze
sculpture, “Boy with Boat,” his abstract work, “Heading Home”
and his portrait bust, “Puccini,
Italian Composer,” originally commissioned for the Puccini festival.
Robin has completed bronze commissions for individuals and
corporations and also gives private instruction.
Robin states, “In my figurative pieces, I identify subject matter for
sculptures that are candid genre, but in unusual poses not generally
depicted in sculpture. I look for movement and fluidity within the envelope of space
created by my subject. My
bronzes are expressions of life being lived to the fullest.
They are snapshots in time which represent memories of people and
life experiences that have affected who I am.”
Robin also utilizes a life-long study of three-dimensional design
to create interesting non-objective pieces.
